Welcome to a new season of Table Tennis. The committee has

changed only slightly from last year. The new Tournament Secretary is

Simon Ible - good luck Simon. Rod Fry who took up the position of

Match and Press Secretary at the beginning of last season has

remained for this season. David Hughes continues as Secretary, and

has passed his ETTA coaching examination at the end of last season.

Simon Cutler is the new Treasurer.

Now a big thank you to Dot Macfarlane, for her commitment to

preparing and printing this and previous Handbooks. Also, thank you to

Les for collating and sending the information to Dot. We should also

thank Peter Rolfe for standing in as Chairman last season for one year

who was able to continue a role he successfully commenced as long

ago as 1963. Peter’s Vice Chairman, Dave Turner, stays on as my

Vice Chairman. Also retiring as Treasurer after many years of looking

after our money is Tony Hibben. Thank you for your good work Tony

in building up a healthy bank balance. Steve Ible has retired as

Tournament Secretary but has remained on the committee.

Les Whittaker and Rod Fry maintain their roles as DTTA/ETTA

Representatives and joining the committee we welcome Keith Anthony

and David Chalk, together with other executive members Nick Smith

and Stuart Angell who served with the committee last year. The two

Executive members leaving the committee are Chris Syms, and

Loraine Syms. Thank you for your input last season Loraine and Chris.

Darren Flack was voted onto the committee at the AGM but he had to

tender his resignation at our first meeting as he has been posted to

another area.

In regard to the coming season, you will see from the Handbook we

have gone back to a previous format of 2 league competitions. Prior to

Christmas there are 2 divisions of 12 teams playing each other once.

After Christmas there will be 3 divisions of 8 teams, based on the

position in the table of the first League Competition.
